Update!
It's been a year since i have updated the site, but I posted 3 new listings today, including Broken Strings from Elba, Alabama, Cottonmouth Creek from Birmingham and Sunday Tradition from north Alabama. I hope to see these bands perform soon and i encourage everyone to support the local talent in your area too.

See The Raven Welch Band in Ringgold, Ga
August 13th, 2010
If you happen to be in the Ringgold, Ga area or the north Ga/Chattanooga area on Aug 13, stop in and catch a great young musician at the Ringgold Depot. Randall Franks from the tv show Heat of the Night and fiddle player with Bill Monroe will be featuring her band for The Sacred Sounds Scholarship foundation just before she heads off to college.
I helped Raven start her first band nearly 4 years ago and she has taken off and thrilled crowds all over the southeast. A family illness brought me back home to Alabama and i had to leave the band last year but she has done an excellent job moving forward with her music. She has grown up to be a talented young lady, graduated in the top of her class, already enrolled in college and is a devout Christian woman.
I will be playing with her in Ringgold on her last scheduled performance of the season. Hopefully she can find time for music after she knows what her schedule will allow but she is focused and knows college comes first. It will be an honor for me to share the stage with her as she moves on to the next phase of her young life.
If you get a chance, check out her website http.//www.ravenwelch.com/ and she has a new Gospel CD titled "I've Got More to Go To Heaven For" if you are interested. She had the help of David Anderson and Brian Hooper from the Gospel band Harvest and Chris Chastain on the CD. It is professionally produced and you wont be dissapointed.
Look forward to seeing my bluegrass friends there, Rhett

Mission
My goal is to promote bluegrass and bluegrass gospel music in Alabama and the sorrounding areas. Bluegrass music has become a very important part of my life over the last 10 years. I have had the privelage of sharing the stage with well known musicians including Raymond Fairchild, Matt Ledbetter (Lonesome River Band), Robert Fowler (Monroe), Bill Pruett (Monroe), Randall Collins (Monroe, Martin), Rodney Worley (Audie Blalock), James Jones (Doyle Lawson) and too many others to list. I am a former member of the Blue Valley Boys of Montgomery, Raven Welch Band of Blueridge, GA, and Abigail Moore and Hy 129 of Robbinsville, NC. I have also been a fill bass player for Raymond Fairchild.
I am not competing with local associations or promoters. I will be glad to post links to any legetimate bluegrass or bluegrass gospel band, association, venue, promotion, festival or a local jam. I would also like to establish a list of working bands for anyone to refrence or contact.
